I've been a photographer for over 15 years, over that time I've built up a portfolio of images by pointing my camera at a whole bunch of stuff including cars, motorbikes, landscapes, products, bicycles, people, pets, the moon, the stars and more. There are some things I wouldn't consider undertaking; a wedding for example. No way! too much pressure and no second chances. These days as well as pointing it at people enjoying the events they've entered, I also specialise in landscape, product and commercial/industrial photography too.
Event photography gives me the chance to provide the entrants with a memory of the day, whether that's the finish line pain face or the total commitment to the mid race battle with an arch rival, or even the post event cake and beer shared with mates whilst belly laughing at the crash they had. These are all memories of the day, and with the help of a digital image or two they can last a lifetime, that's what I like doing, helping people to look back with fond memories in the weeks and years to come. Oh and provide people with good profile pictures for their instagram, facebook and other social networks, let's be honest, that's where most of them end up!
My commercial work mainly revolves around product photography and behind the scenes images of business processes or story telling images showcasing the hard work and dedication that goes into making or supplying a product, these images are generally reserved for internal company documents or are used on their websites or social platforms. For many years I've been a keen supporter of the National Trust and am delighted to be able to supply them marketing and promotional images for their social media and printed documentation.
I love to share my passion for photography and aim to inspire others to join the growing band of photographers and digital creators. I share my knowledge to beginners through practical tuition on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis, more details can be found on my Tuition page.
I hope to see you out and about or at a tuition session soon, remember experimentation is the key to success.
